One hundred and eight people currently work for Projeto Axé, of whom 37 are former students, in confirmation of the solidity and “durability” of the pedagogical model used.

The operators are divided among three different buildings:

- Pelurinho (visual art, music, fashion)

- Baixa do Sapateiro (Dance and Capoeira)

- Axé headquarters (offices, training centre and library, rights protection, family, youth and community support)

Practice Analysis (project briefings every 15 days and a general evaluation every six months) allows the processes and objectives to be constantly monitored and aims to ensure that every operation is successful and effective.

The management has use of a general co-ordinating committee and several co-ordinating committees working in themed areas, which monitor projects continuously and make any necessary changes.


The educators and instructors and in general all the people who work for Axé all have proper job contracts; this not only encourages motivation but also stability and a sense of belonging to the organisation, which has a very low staff turnover as a result.
